Privacy policy

Press & Proof is a content site. There are no user accounts, no newsletter, no comment forms, and no payment processing — so the data story is short. Effective date: September 1, 2026.

What we collect

We do not ask you for personal information anywhere on this site. The data that exists at all falls into three buckets:

1. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-271RX036KY) to understand which articles get read. GA4 sets cookies and collects standard usage data — pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and how you arrived here. This data reaches us only in aggregate; we do not see who you are. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and you can block it entirely with a content blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on; the site works identically without it.

2. Server logs and /go/ redirect logging

Like nearly every web server, ours writes standard access logs: IP address, user agent, timestamp, and the URL requested. This includes requests to /go/ affiliate redirect paths, which means we can see in aggregate how often a partner link was clicked — but not who clicked it. Logs are used for security, debugging, and counting, are retained only as long as operationally necessary, and are not sold or shared for advertising.

3. What affiliate partners see

When you follow a /go/ link, you leave this site and land on the partner's site with a referral tag identifying Press & Proof as the source. From that point the partner's own privacy policy governs; affiliate networks typically set their own cookies to attribute a later purchase to this site. We receive commission reports in aggregate — never your identity or payment details.

What we don't do

• No accounts, so no passwords or profiles to breach.
• No selling or renting of data to anyone.
• No advertising trackers beyond GA4.
• No email collection in this phase of the site.

Your choices and rights

Block cookies and the site still works. If your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, and similar) grants you rights over personal data, contact us and we will honor them — though in almost every case the honest answer will be that we hold nothing on you to begin with.
