How recommendations get made here.

Five promises, in plain English. If an article ever breaks one, tell us and we'll fix the article.

• Recommendations come from real use where we have it. Client sites run for years, tools used hands-on. When we haven't used something ourselves, the article says so plainly and relies on documented facts instead.
• Prices are checked by hand when an article is published or updated, against the live pricing page — and every article shows the date it was last checked.
• Some links pay us a commission. They're disclosed, they route through /go/ paths so you can spot them, and they never pick the winner — when the right answer earns us nothing, that's still the answer. Details in the affiliate disclosure.
• When we change our mind, the page changes and says so.
• We won't publish performance numbers we can't back, crown one "best host for everyone," or pad an answer with filler to look thorough.
